{ Clear Scraps Acrylic Album }

Made an 8x8 acrylic Clear Scraps album for an assignment from Scrapjazz. It's not see thru like in some other acrylic books you see where you can see into and thru the other pages -- but there are papers and embellishments under and above the acrylic, giving it a really cool, funky, shiny, 3D look! Fun!

Featured Products:
The book is, as titled, Pieces of Me, meaning pieces that are important to me right now (2008). The cover features photography, then there are pages on teaching, friendships, being Jaelynn's "auntie", and working on wedding stuff as the maid of honor in my friend's wedding. (And yes, I'm thinking the all the news of Ashlee Simpson's marriage and pregnancy sparked the title idea -- haha!)

{ A Friday FIVE }

What's your favorite TV network? Probably TLC! I love all those makeover shows.

If you could create your own channel, what would it be? A bunch of home decor/re-do shows, some One Tree Hill, some make over shows, and lets throw in a little cooking.

What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back? I loved those Nickelodean shows like Salute Your Shorts and HEY Dude.

What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show? Ummm...thinking...any wrestling show. So fake.

What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD? Dawson's Creek

{ Ok, end of the layout spree }

{ Using Old Supplies }

Photo not fuzzy IRL, that's what you get for photographing a layout in a dark, poorly lit room, lol:

"Old" Products Used:
  • foam stamps
  • numbers stamp
  • Heidi Swapp Sticker Letters
  • Heidi Swapp Ghost Star

{ Paper+INK}

I so wish you could all see this first layout in person. The color combination is just perfection ... drool .... I kept the layout simple to let the colors pop and to focus on the photograph.

If you read the journaling on this one, it isn't really about being at the park, its about how I want her to "park it" and stop growing up so fast!

{ L - O u T s }

Not sure if I mentioned it on here (and I'm too lazy to look it up) ... but Miss Jaelynn is going to be a big sister! Crazy, hey? She will turn one on June 5th, and the baby will be born sometime in December or early January.
I thought this photo was fitting...that expression is how the rest of us feel too! :-)

{ P L A Y T I M E }

My friend and I were babysitting our friend's daughter Jaelynn today. First we went to the Farmer's Market on Capitol Square in Madison, and then later in the afternoon we met up again at my house and then a park to play with Jae.
I think it was her first park experience!

My dog came along for the fun too (yes, she needs a hair cut...that's on Tuesday!)

I'm thinking maybe her mom wouldn't have been too happy with me that I was throwing her kid 8 feet in the air...lol.

{ Another Session - Abby }

{ J a y l a }

Yes, her name is just like mine, except with a 'J!'

This was a recent session, taken in the backyard. I call this a 'mini-session' because it was only about 20 minutes long!

{ Last & Last }

Two 'lasts' today-
Last day of school for the semester.
Last day of YMCA job EVER.

I wish I could post photos of my kids at work, but sorry, I think that would be crossing the line of confidentiality. I worked there for about 2.5 years, and wow, has that time ever flown by! I hated the job at first, mostly because of the 4 year old tyrants that went there at the time, and some super gossippy teachers, but they are all gone now, so the past year has been awesome. I loved going to work -- I worked in the "Wobbler Room" -- which is ages 6 months to about 1.25 years. Will miss those babies!!

I'm not working there anymore because I am moving home for the summer and working at a daycare there, and then in the fall when I return to school, I will be taking 18 credits in 8 WEEKS! Then the second half of the semester I will be in an Elementary school Monday-Friday from 8 am -4 pm. So no room for a job with that schedule!

Then in the spring semester....drum roll please.....I will be student teaching .... and now an even bigger drum roll... I will graduate college after 5 years next May! One year to go, baby! For the spring, I will be student teaching half the time in a 1-5 elementary classroom (not sure which grade yet) and the other half I will be teaching health education in a middle school.

So, 2 lasts today, but lots of things to look forward in the months to come!

{ Utah ReCap }

First day:
Here is Alanna and me at the top of the LDS conference center building on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the mountains in the background. Totally aswesome!

Here's the Temple in Salt Lake City. Gorgeous building!

When we got back from Salt Lake, IKEA, and more places...we started the photoshoot! Joe (Alanna's fiance) had to run to his office, so while we were impatiently waiting for him, we took pics of eachother --- here's one of me. (I will post lots of shots of the engagement photos when I'm done and they've had the chance to see them first! They're awesome!!!)

Day Two:
Surprise surprise! We took more shots! Almost all day long! We did go buy my maid of honor dress for her wedding, though! Something productive....Anyway.....Here's one of my FAVORITE SHOTS I've ever taken! Look at the sunlight hanging behind them! Drool!

Yeah....this one too.....soooo perfectly as I imagined this shot would turn out!!! I saw this bad @$$ orange truck come....well, truckin'....down the street and I set my camera super quick and HERE is the result. In Love. Yeah, them too :-)

Snuck in a self portrait...

Saturday night....this pic was taken before we met up with Lindi at a party at one of her friend's houses! Hi Lindi!

Day Three:
Time to go home already!? We had sooo much fun and the time just FLEW by! We took a hike in the morning in the canyon. Here's a couple cute smiles for you.
SAD! Flying home....notice the other plane!?
