Cutie & Teaching

I got to spend all day Friday with this little cupcake! She got here at 6:30 am and ran around with me all day!

She has SO many words now. She is only 15 months, and has way more words than any of the kids I had in daycare...and they were all older than her!

Her vocab:
-Kayla
-Chrissy (Chris)
-Puppy
-Kitty
-Piggy
-Mmmm bananas
-Baby
-Belly
-Noodles
-Bye bye, see ya
-Spongebob
-Beauuuutiful
-Kisses
-and so on! So cute!

In other news, I got my 1st student teaching placement. It's pre-student teaching. I start Nov 3 and it goes until Dec 15. I will be in the classroom all day Mon-Friday .... with .... eek.... 6th graders! The school district that it's for doesnt have middle school, its K-6 elementary. This will be so different for me because growing up, 6-8th grades were in a separtate middle school building. So, I am nervous because I was expecting...oh....2nd grade or so...but I'm up for the challege!

SUMMary of my SUMMer: Aug '08

There are some things from August below.
More to come!
Stay tuned!
So I was looking thru all my old blog posts last night and realized how much I love being able to peek back into my life to re-live all my memories. I haven't been blogging in the past few months lately because I have been really busy and my priorites have been else where. And I feel, why blog if nobody reads it? But last night, I realized its not about other people who reads this thing -- its for ME.
Thus, I decided update this blog into three new posts; one post for each month over this past summer.
A couple portraits I loved of a senior client...

Christy & Mike - Wedding

SUMMary of my SUMMer: June '08

My brother got married on June 7th. On June 8th, as he was preparing to leave for his Jamaica honeymoon, he landed himself in the hospital with kidney stones. Luckily, at the end of that scare, he was able to go on the honeymoon and they had a fabu time.
We experienced horrible flooding in WI in the early part of June. All the storms and rain actually started during the reception of my brother's wedding. Our biggest tourist spot in WI, Wisconsin Dells, got hit pretty hard, as the whole lake in that area disappeared bc the dams broke. This photo was taken about a half hour from my home town, about a week after all the flooding. The water was still THIS HIGH. And no, we didn't drive thru this. ;-)
A little symbolism for my photography business...not many of my clients purchase actual prints (mainly just the PhotoCDs), so this print order was fun to put together and package...
Lola, the puppy, digging up the yard....LOL. Wow she looks so small here looking back! She is gone now, moved back in with my brother and his wife about a week ago.
And onto the million weddings!
As I said, my brother's wedding was June 7th.
And my cousin Natalie's wedding was June 14th.
And my cousin Nick's wedding was June 21st....and this series of weddings was only the beginning of my "Summer of Weddings"....
Their great cake!
Aunt Christy, Me, & Sister in Law Shannon at Cousin Nick's wedding....
Now we are to the Country USA Festival ... June 28-29th in Oshkosh, WI. We had the VIP tickets this year. Some headliners: Lonestar, Sugarland, Dierks Bently, KENNY CHESNEY, Brooks and Dunn.
Kenny Chesney's show.....
This photo was taken from way far back before it started to rain.
After coming back from Kenny's show...which had been cancelled when it started to downpour.
Result next day from all that storming: MUDDING!

And after all the Country USA excitement, I got a new toy that I had been saving for MONTHS upon MONTHS for! Canon 16-35 mm f/2.8L lens!

Another shot of the pooch:
