{ Spring? Please!? }

Seriously Snow Gods,
Please come take the winter away! Not funny anymore! I feel like I am trapped inside of a snowglobe! And to all of you southern people who wish for snow ... I bet you don't wish for shoveling 12 inches one day and waking up to even MORE snow... at the end of MARCH!

Take a normally happy and fluffed up and cute little white dog (above) and this is what happens when she goes outside now! Our Lexie Lou Belle looks a bit frozen over and sad! (Or pissed off...you pick!)

Oh, and look what it decided to do again last night!

{ On Their Way ... }

I am so excited for these!
I have been looking *everywhere* for a carousel like this forever ... antique stores, ebay, you name it. I want them for my future studio ... I will get mounted 4x6s of my favorite client images and display them on here.
Then this evening, I was going thru my stack of magazines and throwing them away, and I gave a Christmas Pottery Barn catalog a thumb-thru because I am in love with the inspiration I get from that place...and low and behold...what did I find?
Ahhh yes...I did find these, and was sad at the same time because I figured they'd be gone as they were in the Christmas edition ... so I go online anyway, and *oh baby* they're on clearance. How excellent.
Ended up getting them for $60 and $80 .. shipping was only $20, which I was surprised by ...
So how awesome. I cannot WAIT!

{ My BFF }

Alanna & Joe (see post below) are getting married on 08-08-08!
She asked me today if I would be her maid of honor because she would not want anyone else! How special + exciting!
They're paying me by flying me into Salt Lake City the weekend of May 1st to shoot their engagement photos. Can't wait for that either!
Also, more exciting news....I am planning a trip to New Zealand in January 2009 to visit Michele! (That is, if she'll still have me for a visit! *wink*) Michele: I was looking through my grandma's photo albums from her trip to NZ in 1994....beautiful!
Lot of exciting....exciting....EXCITING events in the near future!

{ Late }

Let's pretend it's Monday again and I posted this on the correct day. I took this picture special in preparation for the day, so I have to post it anyway for my efforts.

;-)

Happy *belated* St. Pattys....

{ Alanna & Joe }

My best friend Alanna came in from Utah this past weekend so her family could meet her new squeeze Joe. Of course, we did a photoshoot...a two day long photoshoot, that is.

Thus, I have *lots* of images I love:

{ Oh Yeah }

And my new favorite indulgence
*RightNOW* is the
Toffee Nut Latte
at Starbucks.
Just saying.

Yes, I know I talk a lot about coffee stuff, but I love it. It makes me a just a little bit happier everyday. We all have our little "things" like that -- and CoffeeStuff is mine.

And some awesome quotes from Starbucks "The Way I See It" cups- Even if you don't like Starbucks, these still hold power in their words:

The Way I See It #273
All children need a laptop. Not a computer, but a human laptop. Moms, Dads, Grannies and Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles – someone to hold them, read to them, teach them. Loved ones who will embrace them and pass on the experience, rituals and knowledge of a hundred previous generations. Loved ones who will pass to the next generation their expectations of them, their hopes, and their dreams.
-- General Colin L. PowellFounder, America’s Promise – the Alliance for Youth.

The Way I See It #280
You can learn a lot more from listening than you can from talking. Find someone with whom you don’t agree in the slightest and ask them to explain themselves at length. Then take a seat, shut your mouth, and don’t argue back. It’s physically impossible to listen with your mouth open.
-- John MoeRadio host and author of Conservatize Me.

The Way I See It #281
I’ve never bought the “lowest common denominator” image of popular art. Too many artists worry that popularity is the same as being “middle of the road.” I’m much more into the idea that the middle is the highest point. On a map, the center of a mountain is its peak. You need to climb very high to get there.
-- Dan WilsonMusician. His songs can be heard on Starbucks Hear Music™ station, XM Satellite Radio Channel 75.

The Way I See It #283
The most important thing in life is to stop saying “I wish” and start saying “I will.” Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities.
-- David CopperfieldEmmy Award-winning illusionist and founder of the charity Project Magic.

The Way I See It #237
It’s relationships, not programs, that change children. A great program simply creates the environment for healthy relationships to form between adults and children. Young people thrive when adults care about them on a one-to-one level, and when they also have a sense of belonging to a caring community.
-- Bill MillikenFounder and vice chairman of Communities in Schools, author of Tough Love and The Last Dropout.

I haven't posted much lately now have I!?

I don't really like posting without a photo, and I have been slacking on that duty as well! Spring break is next week; can't believe this semester is already 1/2 over....it hasn't been stressful at all. I know, odd, and now I better *knock on wood.*

Thursday after work at 6 pm I'm officially "FREE!" until the next week Monday -- 10 days with no obligations! And I am super pumped because my friend Alanna from UTAH will be coming to Wisconsin for the weekend! I'm doing some lover shots with her and her beau. This should be fun, fun, fun!

Then for the rest of the week it'll be:
-random acts of photography
-scrapbooking
-scrapbooking
-scrapbooking

Is it Thursday night yet!?

{ Interesting }

Modern cynics and skeptics... see no harm in paying those to whom they entrust the minds of their children a smaller wage than is paid to those to whom they entrust the care of their plumbing. ~John F. Kennedy

Italian Tomato Garden-

An old Italian man lived alone in the country. He wanted to dig histomato garden, but it was very hard work as the ground was hard. His only son,Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter tohis son and described his predicament.

Dear Vincent,
I am feeling pretty badly because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up agarden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know youwould be happy to dig the plot for me.
Love, Dad

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Dad,
Don't dig up that garden. That's where I buried the bodies.
Love, Vinnie

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son...

Dear Dad,
Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under thecircumstances.
Love you, Vinnie

{ Wednesday Random}

First of all, this is the best part about Spring ;-) If you're wondering what all the pens and paper and such are about, I found these hidden in the computer desk from my Mom...haha. Thanks Mom, but only two!!?? LOL!

I wanted to post, but really had nothing new or exiting to talk about, so you get to see some pics from a few weekends ago when we had an ice storm. These came out really cool, I think. The last one is just a picture of our driveway before the freezing part of the freezing rain came. Seriously so much water, but no where to go with it! Now it's just all frozen again ;-)

Look who won 2nd place in the Custest Baby Contest?

You should recognize that photo!
